Show Your Nankins in 2010

Hello Everyone,

Just an update on the NCA.  WE are trying our best to have the Nankin addmitted to the APA Standard.  To do this we have to show at least 200 birds a year, as a group.  The birds need to be shown by at least 5 breeders.  This is an important step for the NCA.  Please help the club out by showing your Nankins this year.  When you show your birds please let me know where you showed, how many Nankins were shown &  a breakdown of what type they were.  Example   RC-K-3,  RC-C-4,  RC -P-5, RC-H-3, SC-C-2, SC-K-1, SC-P-6, SC-H-2.  If we all work together on this we can get it done.  We also need donations for the cost of admittance.  We need $400.00.  $150.00 has already been raised.  Also don't forget to renew or join the NCA.  We have the best newsletter of any breed club.  Don Cable does a fine job on putting it together for us.  Email me at maryann4@bellsouth.net or send $10.00 to me at Mary Ann Harley,195 Macedonia Road, North Augusta, SC 29860 to join.  Thanks.  I look forward to hearing from you all.

Hi Mary Ann,

I showed 6 Nankins at the Cape Fear Poultry Association show in Smithfield, NC on February 6th.  I was the only Nankin exhibitor (as usual).

Here's the breakdown:

SC:  1 K, 1H, 1P

RC:  1K, 1H, 1P

Richard's generosity is inspirational and is an excellent example of the dedication that makes this organization one of the best breed clubs in the nation and globally as well.  Today I am mailing in a $20 donation in addition to my annual dues to help in the efforts for Nankins to be admitted to the APA Standard, and hopefully other members will also step up soon for this worthy cause for this very special breed.  Best wishes to everyone for a beautiful and productive Spring season.            Byron

I'm just asking here so....are we going to go after the ABA also...??

I will be showing the following in the May show here in New Jersey at the sussex county fair grounds.  Anyone around me with Nankins can call me for informationa and directions.

Can any one tell me if our local county fairs will count towards the 200 bird total. They are listed as ABA & APA Club Meets. We have three good size fairs and a club show from June to August. If they count it will be a good opportunity to show a dozen birds in three or four shows.

If they are a sanctioned APA meet, they should count.  Just be sure you have the Show Certificate filled out for use in the future.

Just had a show this past Saturday (June 5th) in Wisconsin and there were 12 nankins shown.  We had best SC and Best RC!   There was another breeder there from Minn.  who wrote everything down.  These were all great looking birds.
