Very cold here in Wisconsin!  They were calling for snow, but just got a dusting.  It is bone chilling with the wind chills right now.  Going to be below zero temps the next couple of evenings with wind chills to -25 below.  I don't know how those birds do it.    HOW MANY DAYS TILL SPRING!  Birds were just kicking in laying again after a week of ok temps.  Now I bet they shut back down (this is always how it goes, orders to fill with no eggs to hatch)

Spring can't get here quick enough for me. The weather is calling for some ice and snow accumulation here the next two days hope they are wrong though cause it sure is nice out today. Sun is shining and I actually got a couple of eggs this morning I guess a couple days of sun and warmer temps was good for the the girls.

Sad  After a couple of weeks of fairly decent weather here in the State of Confusion, with temps in the upper 40's and no hard freezes at night, we get dumped on again!

Yesterday afternoon was cold and windy and in the afternoon it commenced to snow lightly.  Kept that nonsense up all night and it is STILL snowing.  Sun tries to pop out, but can't quite make it yet, so reckon we shall just wait. . . and wait. . . and wait. . . .

BUT, the good thing is:  ONLY 50 DAYS TIL SPRING  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

We now have about 7 inches of snow, so I reckon i shall have to shovel the walk at the City Office when I go down today.  This is the day I make out the utility bills and get them ready to mail.  I just love this day, getting to charge folks money, and they have to pay me. ...... Grin    (the devil made me say that, but didn't have to try very hard)

later from here in snowy kansas

In the Taconic Mtns of east central New York State it has been hovering around zero at night and teens in the day.  When the wind starts to blow it is absolutely brutal for man and beast and bird! Stay warm, stay safe.  Howard

It was in the 50's here yesterday tonight we have freezing rain and a prediction of any anywhere from 4" to 8" here in the valley and up to a 12" in the mtns.  But at least I can take my son sledding in the morning. Yea!!!!! lol

Howard: Stay warm and keep the wood piled high.

Javacock: Hated to hear you got the snow and cold right up until you started talking about the utility bills now not so much I just got mine the other day and looks like we are starting to pay for the ash spill TVA had this last year.lol

With a couple of inches of snow on the ground and temps in the 20's can life get any better than a big fire in the fireplace, a belly full of homemade chili and a good book on Nankins to read I think not. Grin

Snowed all day yesterday. Temp not to bad though. 34 F. Spent 4 hours the night before catching loose chickens. The best part NPIP testing is done for another year. Had to catch all the birds so beaks and toe nails are all trimed. Found a couple Nankin cocks I need to cull. One has good color but a real bad rosecomb. The other has to some white in the wing feathers. Pretty bird and real nice type but just can`t have the white. The two hen colored cockerels are getting a bit darker. Ready for spring now.    Rog

Rain and sleet here most of the day luckily NO snow. It's supposed to clear up here for a few days I just hope the weather man is right for a change. Hope everyone in the Northeast is hunkered down and riding all the winter storms out all right.

We have had snow off and on every day the last week or two.  Not a lot- an two or three inches a day but it has been in the teens or lower at night and rarely up to 30 in the day.  Around this time of the year, the thrill is gone and we all are longing for green grass and sunny skies.  Howard
