Hi,

My Glycerin, just says Glycerol B.P.

It's not a complete magic solutions. For example it was -6.5C here last night and instead of my water containers being frozen solid, there was just a thin layer of ice you could poke a gloved finger through to get to the liquid below. It was peckible shall we say.

Mousy.

We have been having terribly cold temps here for a couple of weeks now and today we got snow. It's 26 as I write and the temp is dropping I dislike winter very much. Had to park my car at my aunt's house as I couldnt get up my driveway the wind was blowing and I busted my big tail end.lol

N3:  Best be careful out there in that weather!  Don't be bustin' anything when out there.  Could lead to major damages to your person.  If I fell on my rear, I'd most likely bounce, but I don't care to try it out.

Colder than a well digger's shovel here the last three days.  It was minus 3 when I chored this morning, with a stiff wind out of the NW.  when coming home from work yesterday, i pulled up in the road (it's a street, actually, but with 99 peoples in town, it ain't paved, so it's a road) and the truck died.  I turned the key and nothing happened.  I said to myself:  "Self, lets try this key again"  So, when nothing happened, I came to the house, while the truck sat in the middle of the road, blocking ALL THE TRAFFIC that was nowhere to be seen, and got the keys to Mother's car.  I put it out there, put on the jumper cables, and still nothing.  In the meantime, this 80 year old woman (Mother) gets her coat and bundles on and comes out.  She said, well, damn and I told her I had already tried that!, and still nothing happened.  So, she gets in her car and pushed the truck into the drive.  I always back in in case I need to unload feed or bust out of a snow drift sometime.
This morning I chored, changed into work clothes, went out to start her car to go to work, and it wouldn't start.  So, I said a few choice words over it and came into the house.  Called work and told them to find someone else today, as I would not be there.  Had two vehicles and neither would start and I didn't have the proper attitude to go to work!  So. . . called the neighbor to the north, he came and jumped the car and I took the battery from the truck and went 25 miles to town to get two batteries!  NOT my idea of a good day shaping up here.  But, at least we ain't got locusts!
As soon as I warm up and get my tea into me, I shall put the battery in the truck and see if that helps matters any.
Hope the rest of you are having a better day!  If you need to know any "choice words" to get through this winter weather, just email, and I shall send you a list.  I have a HUGE repertoire!!

It has kept snowing here off and on after we got about a foot in the New England Nor'ester last weekend.  The temps have been in the 20's daytime and teens at night but the big freeze is coming.  Lows over the next few nights will be around zero and daytime highs around 10 degrees.  Monte-that is your 'used weather' we will be getting, please don't send your car troubles too.  Stay safe and warm.  Howard

I am as ready as I will ever be for the cold-the wood is not stacked by the back door, its in the kitchen, brought in from the woodshed every day.
Despite my whining it rarely gets below minus 10 lately.  When we moved here more than 20 years ago it got to minus 25 or 30 at least once or twice a winter-that sort of cold really hurts but it presents an opportunity for us intellectuals around here to spit and see it turn to ice by the time it hits the ground.  It used to be the talk of the town.  Incidently if you have Mark Field's book on  Nankins you will see photos of my Nankins from the days before I started to heat their coop-the rooster doesn't have a point left on his comb!  Howard

N3:  I ain't the sort to go back to bed once I'm up.  Only if I am really, really sick with the crud do I ever lay down once I'm up.  I figure folks die in bed, so I spend as little time there as possible!

We were -6 yesterday morn, but warmed up all the way to 14 in the PM.  A veritable hear wave.  We are at 36 right now, so I reckon I can live through yet another day!

And, it is only 70 Days UNTIL SPRING~~~~~~~~~~~

The more I read the happier I am to live in East Tenn.lol It's 16 here this morning and supposed to get all the way up to 37! The only good thing about this cold snowy weather it sure does bring the wild birds to the feeders, I can't hardly keep the ones on the porch filled fast enough for them.

Well we got post Saturday and today having had none for the rest of last week.

Snows starting to go, just in time for use to be hit by the predicted heavy snow tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday.

Times like this I really regret that I don't have a fireplace.  Cry

Mousy: Hope the storms have'nt affected you to bad the last couple of days. I would be lost without my fireplace on these cold winter nights nothing better to set by and read a good book than a nice fire.

Howard:  Hope the snow and terrible temps have let up for the upcoming show this weekend.

Gang:  We finally hit a heat wave here in Kansas.  Been in the mid to upper 40's all week, with lows just below freezing at night.  I am almost glad for such weather.  Hope all you are faring well and not having too tough a time of it.
