Thanks for the show info. Looks like someone had a good show. Any idea how many Nankins were at the show?

Hi Mousy, nice to meet you yesterday, thanks for posting the results, i did pop back to check the cards, the cockerel that David sill removed from its pen and took away briefly? took a first then?
n3, it was a disappointingly low turnout of four birds, at our country's biggest show. There were far more in the Nankin classes at the National.
Of the four on display, two males and two females. The 1st place male was smaller, with a neat comb and reasonable type, but he was out of tail with no sickles at all.
the second place male was in in better feather, with a good full tail, nicely bronzed sickles, with a smaller head piece, but was spoilt by having side spriggs.
Of the two females, the judges preferred the longer, leaner, taller and narrower female with more black in its tail to her opponent, who was a shorter, rounder and more typey bird in my view, with virtually solid buff leading tail feathers, and the remainder lightly marked with black.

Of course, Mousy and I have FAR better at home!!! LOL!!

It was nice meeting you too. I was going to suggest a bit of friendly competition at the Devon Championship show as they have a nankin class. But unfortunately its on same day as my dog clubs ch. show so I'll be heading north as I can't miss it as I'm on the committee.

Mousy.
