I just thought it would be fun to see what all kinds of animals and chickens everyone has out there. In addition to my favorites the Nankins, I have several varieties of OEGB a flock of Cuckoo Marans that I have been working with for 3 years now. We also have two Pygmy goats a Daschund a rescued Golden retriever along with 1 cat a Gecko Lizard and a hamster. lol I hope I did'nt leave anyone out. It would be great to see some pics also.

I always like finding out what people have. Our bird breeding projects: Bantams: Nankins, Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, (1 blue Rosecomb hen, 1 black Rosecomb Hen & 1 Dunn OE hen, for a color project, but I can't figure out exactly what I want to do, and don't have a male bird for them anyway. Was thinking about a splash male so I could show my 4-Hers how these 4 colors work together, but I am still not sure.) Largefowl: Blue, Black, Splash Ameraucanas, Dark Brahmas. Waterfowl: Welsh Harlequin (Gold & Silver), Snowy Mallards, Saxony & Pilgrim Geese, we also have grey and pastel Calls Misc. fowl: 5 Fantail/Tumbler/Roller cross Pigeons ---free if I could find a nut to take them. Cage Birds: A colony of Parakeets. Several colors and mutations, grey factors, wilds, spangleds, lutino, albino, a "mosaic"...too many to name, and so far not a single clutch, though lots of activity in the boxes. Kind of a new project for us. Goats: Registered Nubians, unregistered white Angoras and Nigerian Dwarfs We had a golden retriever--pretty sure she was stolen since she's never made an effort to run off and she vanished within minutes, and she had been near the road just before she vanished...thinking about getting another one soon. Oh yes, an assortment of Cats...we only count 2 as ours but there are 4-8 around now and then.

Good idea. Interesting too. In chickens all I have are Nankins and Dutch bantams. Also have a few Quarter horses. Do have an old son of Zippo Pine Bar that is a AQHA World Champion sire. Also a PHBA , IBHA and ABRA World Champion sire. So the chickens are second and the horses first. Also have a spayed Dalmation dog and a mutt cat. Both older than I am in Dog and Cat years. Go tell. Thats about it. Rog

I have Nankins, of course, and an assorted flock of laying hens-Rhode Island Reds, Buff Orphingtons, Black Australorps, Barred Rocks, Dominiques and two Dominique roosters. I have a small flock of racing homers that I fly but do not race. I've had pigeons basically all my life-Fantails, Pigmy Pouters, African Owls, Flying Tipplers, Jacobins, Blondinettes and a few others. This small flock of racing homers is all the pigeons I have at the moment. I used to have heritage breed turkeys and I really miss them but as I get older (70 next summer) I am trying to be less of a feather nut, which is not easy! Our last dog-a golden retriever died 5 years ago, we have two cats. All in all what I have is quite enough and quite enjoyable without being burdensome. Howard

Thanks for sharing everyone lot's of fun to hear what other people have in the bird world. The pigeons sound like a lot of fun whenever I get time to take on another project I think that will be it. They fascinate me how they can fly so far and still return I wish I had that kind of built in gps system.lol. Also love the horse's but I dont quite have enough room for them with my other projects. Since I got tired of only taking my kids' chickens to the shows, I decided to get my own breed, hence my Nankins. Son#1 got too busy for chickens in HS. Son#2 had Black and Blue Standard Cochins, but decided they were too much work, so now I own them as well! Now he has Black Rosecombs and is excited about showing them for the first time in 2 weeks. He also has a layer flock (Ameraucanas, RIRs, Wyandottes, Dominiques, Australorps). Daughter#1 has Sebrights and Belgian Bearded d'Uccles in Mille Fleur and Porcelain, plus a Brown Red Modern for showmanship. She also has 2 pygmy goats, and won Round Robin for Jr. Showman at our fair last month! Daughter #2 has Bantam Salmon Favorelles, as well as a Birchen Modern for showmanship. We also have 5 heritage turkeys for the first time that we are looking forward to on Thanksgiving and Christmas! Then we have our 3 dogs (Lab/Pointer mix, Border Collie, and Pembroke Welsh Corgi) and 2 cats that we claim.

Hello Everybody, In addition to my Nankins I have Cream Light Brown Dutch, Bantam Dominiques, Bantam Delawares, a layer flock of brown & green egglayers, Large fowl French Black Copper Marans that are the wildest things I have ever dealt with. I may get rid of them & get Buckeyes. I would like to get some African Pygmy goats, Bourbon Red turkeys & White peafowl. I also have a Minature Schnauzer, Obie, that weighs in at 10 pounds. He is solid black & spoiled rotten. Also a snappy little guy. Should I call Ceaser Milan? Howard, you don't look a day over 39. Mary Ann

Hey Mary Ann,
Why don't you call Ceaser and see what he can do with the Black Coppers? And then we will see just how good he really is. lol Danny

Terry, you're way ahead of me with animals. Someday I will catch up.
There were no photos from Lucasville because I cracked my toe bone Saturday night & was in pain so did not get back to the shop to take photos.
The host motel only had juczzi rooms left when I called. Little did I know that the jucczzi was right next to the bed. Of course having to get up in the middle of the night to make a bathroom trip I ran right into the corner of the tub. Lots of pain. Now who in the world would put a jucczzi next to the bed. If it had been full of water & I had rolled out of the bed I would have drowned. Don't tubs belong in the bathroom?
Howard, you are eternally youthfull.
Mary Ann

Mary Ann, Hate to hear about your toe, hope its doing better that's a very painful injury to get around with Im sure. I think they will stick those darn tubs anywhere in a room so they can advertise they have one. Glad you did'nt drown at least.lol. Danny

Robin, I had to look Budgerigars up on the internet to see what they were.lol. What beautiful little birds they must be very interesting to work with. I wish I had more time to expand my hobbies maybe when I retire.
